On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, God called Charles Anthony (Redman) Eley from labor to reward.
Charles (Redman) fought a good fight, finished his race and kept the faith. Now there is in store for him a crown of righteousness.
Charles (Redman) was educated in the Suffolk Public Schools and then went to Job Corps to complete his education. Upon his return, he was employed by the Smithfield Packing Company for many years. Redman had gifted hands and would take on any kind of job. His response would always be, “I can do it”.
He was a faithful member of the Diamond Grove Baptist Church. Anyone in service with Redman knew he would always get his praise on. His praises to God were loud and unashamed.
He is predeceased by his father, Rufus Towns; brother, Carlton Eley and sister, Monica Towns.
Charles (Redman) is survived by a loving daughter, Shakira Eley; two grandsons, Jaylen Eley and Elijah Eley; two granddaughters, DeShayla Eley and Elise Ferguson. He will be sorely missed by his devoted mother, Carol Towns; brothers, Rufus Cornelius Eley (Patricia) and Rev. Morris Towns (Stacy); sisters, Annette Harrell (Larvell, deceased) and Carolyn Crocker (Jeffrey). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Rest in Peace Redman. We will see you on the other side.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00am Monday, September 11, 2023 at Diamond Grove Baptist Church, Suffolk, Va. Viewing will be held Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 2-5pm at chapel.
