Carl Aaron Johnson, Sr

Carl Aaron Johnson Sr. 64, whom God called home Thursday, November 28, 2024 in Smithfield, VA. Carl Sr. was born October 12, 1960 to Carl S. Johnson and Iris B. Johnson. 

Born and raised in Smithfield, Virginia, he was a 1979 graduate of Smithfield High School, where he met his wife, Regina. Carl spent many years working for Smithfield Packing Company. Over the past several years, he was a devoted caretaker for his mother, Iris. In all, Carl was a present husband, father and grandfather, son, brother, and a friend to many.

Carl was preceded in death by his father, Carl S. Johnson, and older sister, Carletta Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Regina D. Johnson; children — Tamika E. Day, Tasia S. Day, Carl Aaron Johnson, Jr., Julia R. Johnson, Savion D. Johnson (Elyce), Amesha W. Pittman, Marcus D. Parker, Calandra S. Smith (Leonard), Cedric D. Simmons, Carlos T. Fulgham and Carlis T. Fulgham; his loving mother, Iris B. Johnson; brother, Thomas S. Johnson (Seneca); sister, Cheryl J. Wells (James); and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews; two great-grandchildren, and numerous loving family and close friends.

Though we may naturally feel like he left us too soon, We know his spirit will forever live on in the memories we cherish and through the love we shared. In Thanksgiving to God, We Say Amen 

Viewing will take place on Wednesday, December 4, 2024  from 3-6pm at the chapel.   Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Shivers Funeral Chapel.  Interment will be private. Starting November 30, 2024 the family will receive guests from 1-6pm at 13341 Courthouse Hwy Smithfield, VA. Please keep the Johnson family in your prayers.
