The Life and Legacy of Bernice Marie Holloman

On September 17, 2024, Bernice, affectionately known as (BeBe), was called by God to depart this earthly life at The James River Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center, Newport News, Virginia. BeBe was born March 4, 1953 in Southampton County, Virginia to the late Joseph Holloman, Sr. and Tinnile Holloway King.

Bernice was educated in the Southampton County Public School System and worked for Avon Company for many years. She was a devoted believer in Christ as she received Him as her Lord and Savior. BeBe would often say “I know that my help cometh from the Lord our God and Savior.”

Along with her parents, BeBe was preceded in death by her daughter Takeisha Lynette Holloman, one grandson Ation Holloman and two sisters Patricia Faye Newby (Herb) and Audrey Majette Holloman.

BeBe leaves to cherish her loving memory one son Antonio Lamont Holloman; four grandchildren Ariel Covington, De’quira Hollman, Atavion Holloman, and Ameea Holloman; one brother Joseph Holloman, Jr. (Delbra); five sisters Ada D. Holloman, Vanessa M. Elders (Frankie), Alethea Matthews (Willie), Ruby O. Adams (Larry), Francine D. Bragg (Terry); one bonus sister Louise Meeks (George); one uncle William Holloway, Sr., (Ethel Jean); two aunts Louise Parker and Lucy Newby (Jackie) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will truly miss BeBe. 

On Friday, September 20, 2024, viewing will take place from 3-6pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. At 1pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024, a Celebration of Life Service will be held also at Shivers Funeral Chapel.  Interment will be private. Please keep the Holloman family in your thoughts and prayers.
